REGUIREMENTS FOR FIREFIGHTER’S UNIFORM AND EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH METHODS IN EUROPEAN, INTERNATIONAL AND FOREIGN NATIONAL STANDARDS

The requirements and experimental research methods set out in European and international standards are considered. There are analyzed the classification criteria for separation of firefighter’s uniform in accordance with the risks of injuries from the thermal factors exposure as well as the surface material classification according the stability degree to thermal factors. There are described the firefighter’s uniform tests with use of special manikin at the open flame exposure. They are tests similar to those on the thermomanikin stand in accordance with the national standard for special protective firefighter’s clothes. There are compared the assessment criteria for protection and stability of firefighter’s uniform and multi-layer protective package at the thermal factors influence given in foreign and national standards. The conclusion about the adequacy of the criteria is made. There is made the critical analysis of disadvantages which, in our opinion, European and international standards have.
SELECTION OF ADDITIVES TO WATER AT FOREST FIRE EXTINGUISHING BY AIRCRAFTS

The paper deals with the issues of improving the efficiency of forest fire extinguishing by means of aircrafts using various additives to water. On a specially created test facility there are carried out fire tests on standardized fire suppression with water discharge simulation from the aircraft. Solutions of thickeners, flame retardants, wetting agents and their combinations are investigated as well as the choice of effective additives is justified.
A SET OF INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS TO IMPROVE THE FIRE SAFETY OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT DURING ITS OPERATION

The article provides information about new developments in the field of prevention of fires caused by operated electrical installations. This problem is very important because statistical data on fires from electrical equipment show that in 2018 every third fire occurred for electrical reasons. The analysis shows that fire safety of buildings and structures mostly depends on the state of electrical networks. Three new directions in this area are being considered. The first is the use of a new type of electrical protection from sparking, which is being actively promoted in developed western countries. It has exclusively fire protection function unlike automatic switches and protective devices for switching off the differential current. The second one is the use of original solution, implemented by the gas analysis detection method, based on the control of overheating with help of the special thermo-activated gas-releasing sticker. The third effective direction is practical application of surveys for electrical installations of a thermal method of non-destructive testing, which is based on the use of infrared diagnostic devices.
MODERN APPROACHES TO DIGITIZATION OF THE ACTIVITIES OF OPERATIONAL FIRE DIVISIONS

The ways of improving the action tactics of fire and rescue units based on the use of information technologies are considered. It is necessary to improve fire-fighting activities but first of all, the process must be thoroughly investigated. The existing methods do not meet the real needs because their results are rather generalized and approximate. Digital technologies make it possible to study the activities of fire and rescue units more detailed and in real conditions, which in the long term should allow to develop new methods for improving labor efficiency.
MAIN STAGES AND RESULTS OF DEVELOPMENT OF TEXT DATABASE ON FIRE SAFETY VIOLATIONS

The article deals with the research results of the specialists of the Institute concerning the development and maintenance of the text database (TDB), which as a part of new information technologies is designed to improve the quality and efficiency of supervisory activities in the field of fire safety. The database is intended for input, storage and use of fire safety requirements and their violations. The results of the main stages of the TDB formation are given.
STATEMENT OF THE SCIENTIFIC PROBLEM TO JUSTIFY REQUIREMENTS TO FAP DATA BANK FOR COMPUTERS IN THE FIELD OF FIRE SAFETY

The article presents a comparative analysis of existing funds of algorithms and programs (FAP) as prototypes of the Fund of algorithms and programs in the field of fire safety (FAP FS) using the linguistic assessment «The degree of compliance of FAP with analyzed FAP FS». The purpose, goals and objectives of the funds are identified. The authors formulated scientific problems to justify requirements to the databank FAP PB and to its interface. In the requirements development there were used the following methods: approach with cases of use, process approach and fuzzy modeling. There are two scenarios of FAP FS functioning: (1) FAP FS has only a website; (2) FAP FS has a website and a developed database management system (DBMS). The use of DBMS will contribute to convenient interaction of the FAP FS staff with suppliers and consumers of the Fund as well as with other stakeholders and organizations in order to achieve the FAP FS goals effectively.
FIRE DETECTORS LOCATION IN SMALL PREMISES

There is considered the process of burning products during fire in rooms. Logical justification of requirements of the clause 13.3.6 of SP 5.13130.2009 «Fire protection systems. Automatic fire alarm and fire extinguishing installations. Norms and design rules» is given. There is formulated the protection problem of spaces of small volume where it is impossible to follow the requirement of clause 13.3.6 of SP 5.13130.2009 regarding providing the minimum distance between fire detectors and surrounding objects for the physical reasons. Requirements to conditions of carrying out the fire tests to find optimum place for fire detectors in small protected volume are developed. The received data concerning reaction time of fire detectors depending on the place of their installation are analyzed. Optimum locations for fire detectors from the point of view of ensuring maximum efficiency of ignition detection are defined.
