There is considered the possibility of solving the problem of optimal selection of evacuation exits along one or both sides of a curved corridor, one side of which is a part of an ellipse or parabola, and the other is an equidistant (equi-spaced) contour, in order to subsequently minimize the mixing of human flows (and, accordingly, to prevent congestion in the movement of people) during evacuation in case of fire or other emergencies. An algorithm is presented for determining the optimal distribution of evacuation exits in a corridor in terms of their maximum distance from each other.

The paper analyzes calculated and experimental data on the conditions of thermal and chain ignition of natural fuels (coal, peat, and shale aerosols) and the influence of various factors such as aerosol dispersion and concentration, gas-dynamic parameters of a two-phase (air and dispersed combustible mass) medium, as well as the composition of the oxidizing atmosphere, temperature, initial pressure of a combustible dust-air mixture, external atmospheric data on aerosol explosion rates. A relationship has been established between the explosion characteristics of natural fuels of varying degrees of metamorphism and the amount of volatiles, contained in the fuel, as well as their chemical composition. The explosion hazard is determined mainly by that part of the volatiles, which are heavy organic compounds (resins, acids, etc.). The presence of inert components (natural ash content) in natural fuels reduces their explosion hazard. Also, mechanical impurities of inert dust to the fuel reduce the explosion rate.
