Since 1972 – different positions from Junior Researcher to Deputy Chief of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fire Protection

Field of research
Outstanding scientist in the field of fire safety of buildings, constructions and technological processes. Main scientific achievements: development of methods and experimental equipment for fire danger characterization of substances and materials as well as components of rocket fuels at the changing oxygen concentration in the air, gravity, pressure, etc.; the development of fire safety principles concerning aerospace equipment (the space station “Alpha”, “Salyut”, “Mir”; launch vehicles “Zenith”, “Energy”; carrier rockets “Soyuz”, “Buran”; aircraft using cryogenic fuel, focused space infrastructure); development of methods to assess the fire protection level of atomic power-plants and technical equipment for fire safety improving of nuclear power facilities; creation of methods and means for fire protection of exploration targets, extraction, processing, transportation and storage of oil and gas, including liquefied gas (projects “Sakhalin-1” and “Sakhalin-2”, etc.); development of fire protection concept for unique facilities, namely: Ostankino TV tower (under reconstruction), other high-rise buildings, sports facilities, road tunnels, subway lines, etc. He is the author of more than 160 scientific papers, has 16 inventor’s certificates and patents. He is laureate of State prize and Government prize of the Russian Federation in Science and Engineering.
