Field of research
Famous scientist in the field of the theory of mass fires, researches of combustion and extinguishing mechanisms of solid materials, creation of aerosol and gas fire extinguishing systems of new generation, fire suppression equipment, including robotic, at radioactive and chemically contaminated sites. He is the founder of the scientific school on the problem of prevention and elimination of mass and large fires. He is the author of more than 300 scientific works, including 9 monographs and has 68 inventors’ certificates and patents. He is the laureate of State prize and Government prize of the Russian Federation in Science and Engineering as well as of EMERCOM of Russia prize.

Member of the International Technical Committee on Alternative Freon of the United Nations, Member of the Scientific Security Council of the Russian Federation, Member of the Expert Security Council of Russia. Academician of the National Academy of Fire Safety Sciences (NANPB).
Member of the editorial board of the scientific journal Civil Security Technologies.
