There was carried out the investigation of operational response indicators (speed of movement, first unit arrival time, coverage rate) of fire service units at settlements of the Krasnodar Region and the Sverdlovsk Region. There were highlighted the cities in which it is necessary to improve fire service activities in order to make the first unit arrival time closer to the normative value.

There are presented the results of analysis of expert reports on the reporting materials carried out by fire testing laboratories of FGBU FPS in 2021 concerning quality control of foaming agents and wetting agents stored in fire departments, at facilities, as well as in fire extinguishing installations.

It is noted that for detection of methane leaks (including natural gas) the most effective detectors (sensors) based on the principles of thermal catalysis, absorption of infrared radiation, changes in electrical conductivity are the most effective in terms of sensitivity and speed.

The article discusses the issues related to performance of competitions on the skill of usage of unmanned aircraft systems in EMERCOM of Russia. The relevance of the article is, on the one hand, due to the spread of professional skill contests in most organizations that help to improve the quality of training and creative thinking of specialists, and on the other hand, due to insufficient experience of its conduction in EMERCOM of Russia. The authors have developed and presented the recommendations on the organization of interested competitions based on the results of analysis of the publication materials concerning discussed activities in educational institutions and labor collectives of our country.

And also there are analyzed the number of injured and dead as a result of fires in the residential sector. There are considered the main regulatory legal acts in the field of installation and operation of furnace equipment on the Russian Federation territory. There are presented the results of statistical analysis of parameters characterizing situation with fires caused by electrical equipment that occurred in the Russian Federation in 2011–2020. Both absolute and shared parameters of these fires in general values among Russia are calculated. The distributions of parameters of fires caused by electrical products and devices on different objects of fires are sited. According to the results of the study it was found that the largest number of fires caused by electrical equipment occurred on three main groups of objects: buildings and structures of residential sector; vehicles; public buildings and structures. The major part of fire deaths, fire injures and also the largest direct material loss from fires corresponds to the group of object “residential buildings and structures, outbuildings”.
